The Middletown Valley Gaelic Football Club (MVGFC) is a non-for-profit, volunteer led, community based amateur sporting entity in Middletown, Maryland. Through our volunteers, our Club is committed to the promotion and preservation of Gaelic Games and Irish culture in our community.

MVGFC provides an opportunity for our children to learn the fundamentals of Gaelic football and to enjoy participation and future competition.
​
The Middletown Valley Gaelic Football Club is part of the United States Gaelic Athletic Association (USGAA) registered in the mid-Atlantic region.
​
MVGFC will only be holding training sessions with no competitive play as we get established.
What is Gaelic Football?
Gaelic Football is Ireland's most popular national sport and one of the fastest growing sports in the world!
​
Gaelic Football combines skills from sports that kids are already familiar with - soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc. - and puts them together into a fun and exciting sport that has a high engagement level, and allows all kids to participate, regardless of athletic ability.

Gaelic Football is played between two teams of 13 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball (similar to a soccer ball) into the other team's goal (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point).

Why kids love Gaelic Football
Pure fun and cross-training skills that are great for perfecting other sports.
Everyone touches the ball—many times a game.
Lots of scoring.
It’s fast. Think of the movement of soccer and basketball with the passing of lacrosse and finesse of volleyball.
There’s a position for every kid, regardless of skills or body type.
To play, all you need is a ball, some goals and maybe some cleats.
Players get to use their hands to catch, pass and even score.
